Privacy Policy
Atlas is a personal space for your life, so your data is yours: private by default, public only where you choose. We do not sell data, show ads or use trackers. Here it is, point by point: what we keep, why, where, and how to delete it.
1. Who we are
Atlas (https://atlasverse.io) is an international service. It is currently built and operated by Egor Ponomarev (an individual), who is the controller of your data — "we" in this policy. Once Atlas has a company, it will become the controller and we will update this page.
Any question about your data: hello@atlasverse.io.
2. What we process
We do not collect phone numbers, ID documents, device location or biometrics. Without an account, in guest mode, everything stays in your browser and never reaches us.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
We do not sell or share data for advertising and make no automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
4. Where your data is stored
Our main storage is in the European Union. The providers above process data on our behalf, only to run Atlas, under their data processing terms — including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where they offer them. Data goes to other countries only as far as needed to provide the service to you.
Our application server is in Moscow for now. We are moving it to the EU so Atlas is equally independent for people in any country — this page will be updated when the move is complete.
5. What other people see
Everything is private by default. Others see only your public profile (name, username, avatar, cover, bio, city if set) and the Spaces or blocks you published yourself. Who can see your profile — everyone, friends or selected people — is up to you in settings, any time.
6. How long we keep data
For as long as your account exists. Deleting your account erases it with all content and files immediately and permanently. Before that, deleted notes wait 30 days in "Recently deleted". Support conversations are kept while needed to help you and are deleted with the account. Storage backups roll over within a few weeks.
7. Your rights
- Get a copy of your data — Account settings → "Data" → "Download my data" (one JSON file).
- Correct it — in your profile and settings.
- Delete it — Account settings → "Data" → "Delete account".
- Limit who sees it — make your profile and Spaces private in settings.
- Object, restrict processing or withdraw consent — write to hello@atlasverse.io.
- Complain to your data protection authority (in the EU — your local regulator). But write to us first — it is faster.
We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
8. How we protect data
- every connection is encrypted (HTTPS);
- passwords are stored only as hashes;
- your browser never talks to the database directly: each request goes through the Atlas server with permission checks, and session keys live in protected cookies that page scripts cannot read;
- images are checked for prohibited content on our own server, without third-party recognition services;
- only the founder has access to admin functions.
If a breach ever happens, we will notify regulators within the deadlines the law sets and tell the people affected.
9. Cookies
Only the necessary ones: your sign-in session, accounts added on the device, and language. Browser storage keeps guest data and interface settings. No advertising or analytics cookies — so no cookie banner.
10. Age
Atlas is for people aged 13 and over. If your country sets a higher age for consenting to data processing on your own (up to 16 in some EU countries, 14 in Russia), you may sign up with permission from a parent or guardian. Parents can write to us and we will delete a child’s account.
11. Regional notes
EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland. The rights and legal bases in this policy are those of the GDPR (UK GDPR).
United States (including California). We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Russia. Data is processed to perform our agreement with you (art. 6(1)(5) of Federal Law No. 152-FZ). It is stored in the EU, which means it is transferred outside Russia. Your rights under arts. 14–17 of 152-FZ are the same as in "Your rights".
12. Changes
When something material changes — the server moves, or Atlas gets a company — we will update this policy and show a short note in Atlas. Earlier versions are available on request.
